Proposal Story – Jeff went to Jessica’s hometown of Louisville, KY for a family reunion and for the first time. He knew Jessica loved that bridge and that is where he would propose. The day before Jeff, Jessica and Jessica’s parents went to the Louisville Slugger museum and toured downtown. They walked across the Big Four Bridge at the waterfront to Indiana and grabbed a bite to eat at a pizza joint and walked back. Jeff had not asked Jessica’s dad if he could have his daughters hand in marriage and he didn’t have the ring so he didn’t think that would be a good time to propose. Jeff planted a seed, he said “I wonder what it looks like at night?” Of course Jessica’s love for her hometown and that bridge she said “OMG, you have to see it at night!” The next day they met up with the soon to be MOH Jenny and her husband Sean at their house in Brandenburg, KY. They cruised the lake on a pontoon and floated in the lake listening to music and taking in the beautiful views of KY. It was an amazing day!!! After they left, Jessica said, “want to go see the bridge tonight?” Of course Jeff said yes, he thought for sure she knew what was up. They get to the bridge and Jessica ask, “do you want to go all the way up or you just want to get a photo?” Jeff says, “yeah let’s walk up there!” He was thinking, I think she knows!!! So they walk up to the top of the bridge and as they get to the middle of the bridge, Jeff pulls Jessica to the side and they are cuddling and taking in the views of downtown Louisville. Jeff says, “I need to talk to you about something.” Jessica was thinking he was wanting to talk about the budget since they’ve been talking about finances here lately. Jeff says, “I don’t want to be your boyfriend anymore…”Jessica’s heart sinks thinking he’s about to break up with her. Jeff continues, “I want to be your husband.” As he drops to his knee he pulls out the ring they’d picked out together. Jessica puts her hands over her mouth in disbelief and says yes (of course)!!! They kiss and hug each other and then take a selfie to remember the moment. They decide to walk over to Jeffersonville, IN and sit outside on a patio and enjoy the rest of the evening. This happened July 26, 2019.
